La Sportiva - Akyra Women

Trail Running Test

18 May 2017
It is time to grind miles with the Akyra Women shoe designed for the Ultra-Trail by La Sportiva

With the arrival of the beautiful season the snow is melting and the need to go out and run on trails has become more and more impelling... So I decided to tie up the new Akyra and go out to enjoy nature and its changes.

I have always been attentive to the aesthetic part of the technical material - there are few girls who would buy functional but ugly shoes - and when I opened the LaSpo box I was pleasantly struck. I took it in my hand and I was struck by the design that resembles Japanese origami and color (the turquoise in my case). I also wanted to wear them to get out! I stopped and avoided destroying this jewel on asphalt.

I came out on the reggiano appenine and forgetting fatigue and suffering - caused by winter laziness - I passed the heating threshold and went ahead to run. Since this shoe was specifically designed for long distances I needed to test the grip and yield on a long track.

The test I did not pass, but the Akyra undoubtedly: they are lightweight (630g per pair) and enveloping, perfect for those who weigh short and need a shoe that follows the natural movement of the leg, which makes it feel free but to the Same safe time. Be sure, because I hold my ankles very much, and I would not feel like running and jumping without a shoe that would provide some protection to my heel. The Akyra is the perfect blend of lightness and safety: it is very breathable and the foot benefits from the freshness needed for long trails and the protection and flexibility essential for technical trails. Even my knee wounds have pulled a sigh of relief: the shoe is very dampening and is thought with some respect for our joints.

Let's go to the technical details:

The hull has Air Mesh technology that guarantees permeability and a secure grip, lightweight tip and support in TPU MicroLite Skelton designed to track foot movement during racing.

The Flex-Guard upper guarantees flexibility and wraps your foot to perfection. The sole mounts a FriXion XT treadmill with Trail Rocker ™ technology that helps the ideal foot support. Breathable footbed in Ortholite.

La Sportiva has produced two colors for girls: turquoise and salmon. The numbers range from 36 to 47.5 (I usually walk a 36 I preferred a 36.5).

In short, it seems that the Akyra has found the union between design and technical perfection ... I had no difficulty understanding and making my slogan of the product "running is an art".

Despite the fatigue of these first seasonal outings, I look forward to continuing to run as much as possible as far as possible.
