90 years of mountaineering history on show at the Muse of Trento11 May 2018
From April 26 to May 25 La Sportiva tells the evolution of world alpinism with a temporary exhibition open to the public at the Trento science museum.
History of mountaineering, passion and innovation: this is the title of an exhibition made up of images and products completely unpublished to the general public. The experience is completed by a sensorial journey dedicated to the little ones at the end of which it will be possible to pick up a small La Sportiva gadget.
La Sportiva shuts off the ninety candles this year, ninety are in fact the years since its foundation in 1928 by the hand of the shoemaker Narciso Delladio.
Almost a century of history that saw the small craft workshop called La Calzoleria Sportiva, constantly grow and evolve in the global brand it is today, through a production of footwear and technical clothing totally studied and developed in the mountains of Trentino.
Four generations of the Delladio family, represented today by CEO Lorenzo Delladio and daughter Giulia, who have continued the family business tradition, bringing it to today's success: over three hundred employees, a growing turnover that will exceed one hundred million euros in 2018 and a new one a production of 15,000 cubic meters that will be inaugurated by the end of the year and will soon lead to the potential doubling of the production of climbing and mountain shoes.
The official date of La Sportiva's birthday is Wednesday, May 23: at the Muse of Trento will take place in fact the 90th Anniversary Party, a celebratory event open to the entire population of Trentino and more generally to all lovers of the mountain and its protagonists. The mountain will descend into the city and La Sportiva will embrace Trento in an event that will know history and legend with all the protagonists and athletes who have contributed to evolve the way of going to the mountains in 90 years of mountaineering.
Mountaineering will be the protagonist in Trento throughout the month of May: from April 26 to May 25, in fact, the Muse will dedicate a temporary exhibition to the evolution of the ways of going to the mountains. Through some fundamental steps in the history of mountaineering and climbing in a path made of rare archive images, emotional videos and original products used by the best athletes in history for their most important achievements, visitors will be accompanied in the evolutionary path accomplished from the company of the Valle di Fiemme in the 90 years of history that have seen it at the feet of the best exponents of world alpinism.
So the shoes used by Adam Ondra for the Norwegian ascent of Silence, the Olympus Mons Evo by Simone Moro in the winter ascent to Nanga Parbat and the TC Pro used by the American Tommy Caldwell for the ascent of Dawn Wall on El Captain, will find space. the way considered the hardest in the world.
