Alex Chabot climbs Molasse’son, 9a at Mollans-sur-Ouvèze
The French champion will not lose his splendor29 April 2019
Another 9a for Alex Chabot who repeats Molasse'son in Mollans-sur-Ouvèze.
With a past as formidable and for some years unbeatable climber, the Frenchman Alex Chabot, born in 1981, returns to the 9a doing Molasse’son to Mollans-sur-Ouvèze, a route freed by his compatriot Gérôme Pouvreau only a couple of years ago. The palmarès of Chabot, now a Mountain Guide in Chamonix, is so compressed when impressive and in the early 2000s, it really had no rivals, collecting three gold medals in the Lead World Cup (2001-2002-2003) and two second places (2000-2004 ), to which were added three Rock Masters (2002-2003-2004) and seven consecutive French titles between 2001 and 2006. Other performances on the crag from 9a were, for example, those at Gorges du Loup where he climbed routes such as Kinematix in 2003, Abysse in 2006 or PuntX in 2007, which now also adds this ascent even if, for the record, it must be said that Seb Bouin gave Molasse'son the grade of 8c + when he climbed it a year ago.
